Considered by many to be the most beautiful circulating American coin, the Walking Liberty Half dollar obverse features a flag-draped Liberty walking, arms-open, into a rising sun. The reverse features an eagle clutching an olive branch, a symbol of peace. Although the series was minted from 1916-1947, the obverse design has reused on American Silver Eagles each year since the program's inception in 1986.
