Minted from 1948-1963, the Franklin Half Dollar features Bejnamin Franklin, scientist and one of the most influential founding fathers, on the obverse. The reverse features the Liberty Bell. The reverse also features a small bald eagle in order to comply with a U.S. law that all coins valued at 20¢ must bear an eagle somewhere on the obverse or reverse.
