James Sego
A life-long collector, James Sego, owner of JMS Coins, has been buying and selling coins
professionally since 1986. A Dean's List graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelors
degree in Economics and German and a minor in Politcal Science, he went on to earn his Masters
Degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University in California in 1997. He is an
accomplished business executive having spent over 21 years with The Quaker Oats Company
managing over $2 Billion in revenues. Most recently he was Executive Vice-President of Sales
for Lincoln Snacks LLC, a Chicago based food concern.
James has been nationally recognized for his knowledge on Eisenhower dollars. He
collaborated with John Wexler and Kevin Flynn in The Authoritative Reference
Guide to Eisenhower Silver Dollars. He also assisted Q. David Bowers in his book on
Eisenhower Dollars.
He is an inductee in the PCGS Registry Set Hall of Fame along with Louis Eliasberg and John
Jay Pittman. James feels it's quite an honor to be even spoken of in the same sentence as these
numismatic giants.
He has been published multiple times in the Coin Dealer Newsletter, writing lead articles.
Currently, he is serving as the President of the prestigious Professional Numismatists Guild. He has been a member of the guild since 2011.
James has handled many of the top graded modern coins and complete registry sets.
Additionally, he has helped complete many top registry sets.
Along with top grade modern coins, James has handled many classical rarities as well, most recently selling an ultra rare 1933 $10 Indian for over $1,000,000.
He is currently assembling one of the finest known sets of 20th Century Gold, including the ultra rare proof only issues.
Other specialty areas include: Cameo Proof Coinage from 1936-1970, spectacularly toned coins from every era, and proof sets and high grade singles from 1936 to 1970.
