There were 2 VIP striking ceremonies for the 2000 Sacagawea Dollar. One was held in Philadelphia in November 18 of 1999. The first coin was struck by the ANA President, Bob Campbell. There were less than 600 such coins struck. As of today, only 3 have been certified by PCGS. Since the coins were dated 2000, none of the coins were allowed to be taken by the attending dignitaries.
On February 25, 2000 there was a similar ceremony held at the Denver mint. There were officially 120 VIP Strike coins struck at that ceremony, making the Denver mint coin 5x as rare as the Philadelphia coin. As of today, only 2 coins have been certified by PCGS, both as SP68.
